Some words can be cut and dry

For example, “Happy” – that’s pretty clear what that means but what about the word “Action”? Does it cause your stomach to tighten, create fear and you back paddle or go and hide in a corner or do you feel enthusiastic and ready to take action head on?

In this moment, you are taking action.

You may be taking action in doing the same thing as you always do. Or maybe you are taking steps to move you forward, gently or otherwise, to where you want to get.

Dr Joe Dispenza says, “Your familiar past will be your predictable future”.

We are all programmed, whether we like to admit it or not. There’s always something ticking away in our heads that is the familiar. You know how you wake up in the morning and have the same routine each day.

There’s nothing wrong with a routine if it benefits you, but maybe you realise that it’s so familiar that it’s become engrained in you.

By choosing to change up a habit in any way causes a disruption to the normality and familiarity and causing your mind to think differently. Sometimes that can feel fantastic and sometimes it can feel very uncomfortable.

Let’s take this one step further.

I want to encourage you to start to embrace that discomfort. Ouch – Yup, embrace it by taking gentle steps towards something that needs changing very quickly and on an intense level, it may cause that feeling of retreating to safety – cue the corner mentioned above! That’s your mind and your brain giving the opportunity to go back to where you were because it wants to keep you safe.

If you start to take that step forward and do something slightly against the norm that’s been created, it will feel uncomfortable.

At this point, congratulate yourself.

Brilliant! You’re growing! Fantastic! You’re changing! Amazing! You’re stepping towards where you want to be!

Take that discomfort as a reason to pat yourself on the back and be so proud and truly know that you are moving forward.

Everything we do that feels a little bit uncomfortable even though it’s route to where you want to get is worthy of a celebration. Celebrate the disruption. That icky feeling (you know what I mean!) You’re moving forward!

The more this happens, the more you’ll become comfortable with it, even when it feels uncomfortable! You haven’t stepped back by doing this, you’ve simply stepped up towards it.

Everything that was uncomfortable will become your familiar and new normal, until the next time!

Doing nothing means you are still taking action – Doing nothing.

I’m confident is saying that you are reading this because you are wanting to improve yourself.

Please remember though that wherever you are at is no comparison to anyone else. There’s no competiton, yet every time you want to progress, the mind will look for a problem. So change masquerades as trouble and suddenly problems come to mind to prevent the transformation

Your mind is looking for reasons why not to take positive action.

It’s creating future memories – A way of viewing something that hasn’t happened yet but been created in the mind. The subconscious does not know reality. It’ll accept anything!

Every time you feel the discomfort of moving forward look for the advantages.

It’s going to give you strength. It’s going to give you experiences, wisdom, knowledge and an amazing reminder of what not to do another time.

Take any door closing as a redirection that a situation was simply not meant to be.

It may feel like your fingers and toes are being jammed but trust the process. It’s not personal. There’s no failure or incapability. It’s no reflection on you. There are better things coming that are meant for you.

You’re still taking action, just not banging down the door that won’t open because it’s not meant for you.

Look for the opposite.

What if this takes you somewhere far more amazing than where you are now?

It may feel like your fingers and toes are being jammed but trust the process. It’s not personal. There’s no failure or incapability. It’s no reflection on you. There are better things coming that are meant for you.

Discomfort is all part of creating your magic. Promise.

Love Lisa xx
