The Journey.

 

Sometimes, the journey gets lost in paving the way for the future, and the incredible milestones stepped through go unrecognised along with that incredible determination that brought you to now.

 

Striving forwards is fab

 

but are you recognising your attributes as you go? We all know there’s more inside of us and there’s always more to discover if we choose. It’s not about making ourselves better, it’s about being our best self. There, lies the difference.

 

Back in the day around 2012 after having spinal surgery, I recall walking (well, hobbling actually) around the local shops with my friend. I was reintegrating myself into the real world after many months recuperating.

 

Picture this.

 

Me, feeling very vulnerable, one wrap around brace, in denim pattern, no less, clinging onto my amazing friend, Donna, who knew exactly what I was dealing with having had the same surgery a few years earlier. It was hard to dodge the shoppers with my actions needing to be steady and slow as my body got back in the habit of moving.

 

Despite dealing with all of the above, and some, I still didn’t give myself credit for the intensity of what that experience had brought our way.

 

I simply knew that there was something more for me out there.

 

But I had no idea what. However, what I did begin to realise was, that it all starts from within.

 

There’s a fab line in a book called, The Rhythm of Life, by Matthew Kelly. It says, “Fulfilment doesn’t come from having more and more from ever into oblivion, it comes from more and more of what you need”.

 

 

The Magpie Effect

 

If you are forever like the magpie gathering as you go, this and this and this. That may feel like you’re doing great but is it really what you need?

 

Are you getting all of that because other people are doing it or is it because it will actually make you a better and better person.

 

What we need is what nourishes us and what we want simply adds to our collection.

 

The journey is the part that grows us dovetailed with putting ourselves first because we are acknowledging our true self – the heart and soul.

 

As you move forward and think of what your wants are, ask yourself the question, I want that but do I need it?

 

Is that going to feed your soul and nourish you – will it enhance your energy and lift you  – will it raise you up to be the person that you aspire to be?

 

We can always move the posts and keep moving forward.

 

So, here’s a gentle reminder that you are just fine in this moment doing exactly what you are doing. Stay present. Take that breath and step back.

 

 

Fulfilment comes from having what you need.

Really truthfully, instead of pushing, forcing and doing your head in (let’s keep this real), do you ever pause and talk yourself back to simply acknowledging what’s occurring and accept that this is how it is, in this moment?

 

You see, in this moment, THIS, is what you have control of. The acceptance or the resistance.

 

In THIS moment, what about thinking of “THIS is meant to be happening” exactly like this, it’s already mapped out anyway. The reason, if nothing else, is that by approaching from a new perspective, the calm approach will create a calmer body and therefore, you’ll be making friends with your body rather than making an enemy of the tension that can arise from the overwhelm, that knot in your stomach or perhaps, the headaches.

 

Enough.

 

Many of my clients share that they feel tense, unsure and that they can’t see a way of moving forward. It’s seems to be the norm to force, try too hard or feel stressed that they’re not making any kind of progress when in fact the progress is waiting to flow.

 

So, back to my original point, when things are going great stop and work out why things ARE actually going great and on the flip side why they may not be.

 

Ask these questions:

Why do I feel like this? Do I want to keep this going? What do I need to do?

 

Simple. We are simply raising the awareness AND the answers are already within.

 

Let it be easy. Let it flow.

 

Look how far you’ve come, especially in these bizarre Lockdown times. Take the pressure off and today, do the best that you can and keep shining your amazingness.
